Our Rules

Unlike other sites we do not have pages and pages of small print outlining terms and conditions, most our our T & Cs can be found within this website. We want your stay at Hillfort to be an enjoyable experience and we will endeavour to ensure it is. If this is going to be your first experience of Camping and are unsure of anything, then feel free to ask us before you book. During your stay either the Site Manager or myself can always be found around the site to assist with with any questions you may have with your stay, speak to us, were here to help.

Pet Policy

If you bring a dog, this remains your responsibility at all times, must be on a lead and not left unattended. Dogs are not allowed in our Yurts. You must clean up after your dog. You should obtain the information for dog owners from reception on your arrival.

Our Terms

We let a pitch or a Yurt to you with the expectation that you will follow the usual customs of good camping and caravanning. We reserve the right to ask you to leave at any point of your stay if the behaviour of any member of your party is unacceptable to us and no refund of monies will be paid.

Whilst we will do everything possible to ensure you have an enjoyable camping experience, we have no control whatsoever over the weather. Like other parts of the country we do at times experience some severe and adverse weather conditions which can disrupt your stay, it has been known but very rare for tent/ tipi structures to become unstable, we do of course do everything in our power to rectify these occurrences whether or not it is your own tent or ours.

However, unfortunately, these rare occurrences cannot be foreseen by yourself or us. Should you curtail your stay early due to weather conditions, no refund of monies will be paid. By booking with us you agree to our terms and conditions. You must ensure children in your party are properly supervised at all times, in all areas of the site.



If for any reason we have to close the caravan and camping park due to Covid restrictions or any lockdowns,  at first instance we move your holiday to another date and at the second instance we issue a refund.



We understand that sometimes you may want to cancel or amend your booking.

Cancellation 0-7 nights before arrival –  no refund

Cancellation 8-12 nights before arrival – partial refund – 70% of your total holiday, or the booking may be rearranged to another date subject to availability.

Cancellation 13+ nights before arrival – we will refund your total holiday less than 10% (admin fee)


The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable.


There are no refunds due to the bad weather condition. We are happy to offer credit for other dates during same season or next year.


If you cancel your holiday less than 12 days before your arrival date and we are able to issue a credit for other dates. The Greener Camping Club membership fee is not refundable. In the event that we are unable re-let your dates, no refund will be made.

Bookings are not transferable to another family without our prior agreement in writing. If you are concerned about the prospect of cancellation, please take out holiday insurance.

If there is a problem or dissatisfaction with any matters under our control, please talk to us immediately, so we may have the opportunity to rectify issues.

People have a habit of rarely telling you how happy or unhappy they are with your products or service. They are more comfortable discussing it with somebody else. At Hillfort we want to know.
